It all started with...
...a vision to see the youth of Gretna prosper. With this vision, A*rise Ministry was birth. A*rise Ministry, Inc. is a community-based non-profit organization that was established to impact the lives of the youth and families of Gretna, FL, and surrounding areas through offering services that promote spiritual, physical, and social wellness; educational vocational development; life readiness and self-sufficiency; and leadership, civic responsibility, and community engagement. A*rise seeks to develop the “whole man” (body, spirit, and soul) by making intentional efforts to expand the horizons of each person involved in the ministry.
a·rise (verb): To emerge, get up, awaken. “New hope has arisen.”
Isaiah 60:1 – “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.
A*rise partners with youth of the Gretna and surrounding communities to affirm, encourage, and empower people in and through Jesus Christ’s plans for their lives.
Many young adults and their parents who live in the Gretna and surrounding community are dynamic, capable, and loving people who have been denied opportunities to fully exercise their God given talents to their full potential. A*rise ministry has been created to come alongside these families and the larger community to affirm, encourage, and equip them for a greater relationship with Christ while offering new opportunities for the future. Such vision shall be accomplished by developing intimate relationships with the children, their parents, and local community leaders.
A*rise believed that such efforts can only be furthered by first listening to and understanding the experience of the people within Gretna and the surrounding community. It is critical to learn from the ways in which Christ has uniquely loved His people in Gretna before attempting to join Him in His work. A*rise works to affirm the youth and their families through offering academic and professional development, partnering to create supportive households, providing strong Biblical teaching, exploring the horizons of each person involved in the ministry.
